Made up of an archipelago comprising 10 volcanic islands, Cape Verde is located not far from Senegal. Santiago, the largest island in the archipelago, is home to more than half of the Cape Verdean population. The local currency is the Cape Verdean escudo (CVE) and is equal to 0.0100 US Dollar.

The climate is hot and dry. The rainy season lasts from August to October, but on average it only rains around ten days per year.

How to work in Cape Verde ?

Working in Cape Verde can be complicated if you have children. This is why there are coworking spaces that allow you to separate personal life from professional life. Currently, 4 coworking spaces have been set up on the island of Sao Vicente and Santiago. We advise you to rent your accommodation not far from one of these spaces so as not to waste time on local transport and take full advantage of your free time. You can locate the coworking spaces on the islands on the map provided to you below.

Depending on your usage, you will find the internet subscription that suits you. Prices vary between €52 and €64/month. The main provider in the Cape Verde Islands is CV Telecom (Cabo Verde Telecom). There are also wireless wifi boxes for digital nomads, allowing you to benefit from a good wifi connection in around a hundred countries.

What is the time difference?

The time zone is UTC+4. Do not neglect the time difference depending on the work done and your country of origin. Lhe time zone is an important element: there is a psychological risk if the employee connects at night outside of his colleagues' hours. In certain cases, depending on the area of expertise or the personality of the employee, the time difference will not be a key decision-making factor. To ensure your integration, the Cape Verde Tourist Office has set up an internal online community where you can connect with all other participants in the teleworking program.

To qualify for this visa, you must be able to telework abroad. The nationalities concerned by this program are people from Europe, North America, Community of Portuguese-speaking countries (CPLP) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). You must have a balance minimum average banking amount of €1,500 over the last 6 months. If you are traveling with family, your average bank balance must be at least €2,700 over the last 6 months.

What are the holdups ?

Thanks to our services, you will be able to obtain this visa in just 2 weeks. Unfortunately this delay varies depending on the degree of occupation of the archipelago. This is why we advise you to make your request a few weeks in advance.

Can I come with my family?

If you want to develop your children's cultural awareness, what could be better than going abroad as a family. The way of learning for school is different but you will be able to teach them a new way of life and develop their knowledge of the world. Colombia's telework program is open to families.

Can you renew your teleworking visa?

You can stay up to 1 year on the Cabo Verde islands if you wish by renewing your existing visa. Indeed, 6 months are often not enough to discover the beauty of the islands. Furthermore, if you decide to go as a family, so as not to disturb your children, it is preferable not to change your destination twice a year but to sometimes stay longer there. This allows you to fully acclimatize to this new way of life.
