A small British colony located in the Caribbean Sea is called Montserrat. Fewer than 5,000 people live on this 102 km2 island.

The capital of Montserrat, a small island near Puerto Rico, nicknamed the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean because of its magnificent rainforests and Irish past, is Brades, which was recently established. After the Soufriere Hills volcano erupted in 1995, 40 feet of ash fell over the historic capital of Plymouth. A group of experts charged with protecting locals and visitors from Mother Nature's interior rumblings continually monitor the volcano. It is still possible to land safely on the northern part of the island, where Brades is located.

Plymouth Crater and ruins can be seen in all their glory from St. George's Hill. The natural splendor of the island of Montserrat is breathtaking. The area is covered in beautiful jungle, with some pretty strenuous hiking trails. Almost the entire island can be explored by hikers. The Cot and Katy Hill trail systems, which are the two best known, are all shown on accurate maps maintained by the Montserrat tourism office.

This small island is for you if you are looking for a less crowded destination away from prying eyes. You will be able to telework with complete peace of mind.
